Summary/Abstract: Meyerhold’s biomechanics for the theater in the context of Diana Taylor’sconcept of the archive and the repertoire. The specific circumstance of biomechanics consists in interfering with state power (the confiscated archive, the creator’s name covered by the censor’s prohibition in 1938‑1955) in the processes of its transmission and its reintroduction into the circulation of culture in the form of physical practice and studying documents aftera twenty‑yearhiatus. Their characteristic weakness and interaction is anexample of complex relationships between the archive and the repertoire.I use my own experience in biomechanics training as well as documents from the Meyerhold archive showing the original context of its function inthe curricula created by Meyerhold in the 1920s and 1930s.
