Directions of socio-economic development of rural areas in the context of the rural development program for 2014–2020

Summary/Abstract: The main objective of the work was to present the assumptions of the Rural Development Program (2014–2020) with an indication of the strategic directions of development of these areas. The work is a review. The main objective of RDP (2014–2020) is to increase the competitiveness of agriculture taking in to account environmental objectives. It is a continuation of previous programs, extended with additional forms of support. The complex support offered by the rural development policy aims to achieve sustainable growth, maintain the vitality of rural areas and increase the competitiveness and profitability of the agricultural sector. RDP (2014–2020) seems to be more in the area of strategic management than the previous RDP (2007 – 2013). Above all, itis to enable deeper modernization and restructuring of farms, allow new innovations, diversify crops and take up challenges in the face of complex customer issues.
