Summary/Abstract: The paper concerns the variety of the policy towards the labour market in the region of North-Western Poland and the support possibilities of the unemployed. The aim of the article is the assessment of the effectiveness of the chosen support form of the professional activation. The research problem is the question: how does the variety of the North-Western Poland voivodeships within effects of the professional activation look. In the theoretical part were presented the law and institutional bases of the labour market policy and the labour market tools used on the labour market in Poland. In the empirical part was carried out the analysis of the achieved effects within professional activation of the unemployed and the non-active ones. In the article were used the documentation analysis, statistical analysis and comparative analysis. The inference took place by deductive reasoning. The analysis pointed out that the most popular support method were trainings and practices. The biggest employment possibilities were after undergoing practices and receiving financial funds on setting up a business. The Greater Poland was the most effective in that.
