Summary/Abstract: In our classical madrasa education, there is a tradition of writing the textbook as a verse, for easy to learn and to keep. The books written in verse are memorized by the students and thus the essence of science is kept in memory. For this purpose, poems about virtually all sciences have been written. There are various verse works about physiognomy (kıyafetname/ilm-i kıyafet).
