The names of caves and abysses of the Slovak Karst from the viewpoint of interonymic relations

Summary/Abstract: In the presented paper, we pay attention to the non-standardized names of cavesand abysses (speleonyms) located in the territory of the Slovak Karst National Park.The aim of the study is to present lingual and extralingual analysis of interonymiccontacts in the creation process of speleonyms in the described area. The introductorypart of the paper offers a theoretical overview of how the term transonymisationis currently understood in Slavic onomastics.
