Summary/Abstract: Article analyzes the applicability of the «elite theory» for studies of the power groups of Soviet Stalinist’s society. The author analyzes the publications of the Russian and foreign scientists and finds that the argument about the existence of the prevailing elite groups in the governance structure of the USSR during the «late Stalinism» is unacceptable.
