Socola Hospital in the great reunification year - a short historical retrospective

Summary/Abstract: The year 2018, when it will be 100 years since Romania's reunification, is for us the anniversary of 113 years since it was inaugurated in Ia$i the Asylum of Alienated Socola, on October 12, 1905, by Dr. Alexandru Braescu. By decree No 3039 of 23 October 1918, King Ferdinand commissioned A. Marghiloman, the President of the Council of Ministers, in accordance with this decree, by which the Asylum of Alienated Socola passed from 1 November 1918 to the adm i nistrati on of the state. This may be considered a historical act of rebirth of a hospital that enters a modern age.
