Summary/Abstract: Italy Syndrome represents a sum of psychiatric symptoms developed by the women who conduct their activity or who still work as personal nurses for the elderly within the European space, mainly in Italy. Distance and missing home, professional inexperience before beginning the activity, dialogue in another language, unfavourable and psycho-stressing environment, unfit age, fragile structure - all of them represent a part of the vulnerable picture exposed to the risk of mental disorder. Under all of these circumstances unfavorable to mental balance, work capacity is impaired; middle age as well as prolonged work schedule complete the vulnerable picture. For this reason, it is necessary to quantify the risk and more attention must be paid to employees, because they can suffer from accentuated mental decline under these circumstances. The recommendations for the impaired persons are as follows: medical and social measures meant to limit the process, which include reduced work schedule, by progressively cutting down on working hours and by granting holidays for mental and emotional recovery.
