Summary/Abstract: This article focuses on the interpretation of the Menippean letters selected from the Polishliterature of the Age of Enlightenment. The following letters have been analysed in the article: twoletters written by Ignacy Krasicki from his voyages, a letter of dedication by Tomasz K. Węgierskifrom the poem entitled Organy [The organs] and the letter entitled List młodzieży do dobrychPolek [Letter of young people to good Polish women] by Marcin Molski. In the Age of Enlightenmentwriters applied the prosometric form of the letter to express satirical contents, to criticallyreview the literature and to reflect seriously upon the situation of the country.
