Obligations of the family doctor in the light of the Bill on primary medical care

Summary/Abstract: The aim of this work is to discuss the proposed changes regarding the organisation and functioning of primary medical care and, in particular, to redefine the role and place of the primary care physician in the health-care system. The GP physician as a care coordinator initiates, integrates and/or continues treatment undertaken by another provider as part of his professional competence and in accordance with current medical knowledge. As part of this coordination, he cooperates with persons providing specialist health services, representatives of health institutions and organisations, school heads and other institutions.
