SÂNGEORZUL ROMÂN BALNEAR RESORT

Summary/Abstract: If the therapeutic action of the mineral waters and of the climate in the region was discovered by the original inhabitants of the Sângeorzul Român locality and subsequently was validated by different scientific studies, the modernization of the Sângeorzul Român balneal resort is undoubtedly linked to the name of doctor AndreiMonda, born in Bistriţa Bârgăului and who will come to this locality at the end of the 19th century. After 1970, the resort will experience the most spectacular develop ment after the building of two healthcare resorts belonging to the Hebe Hotel (900 beds)and the UGSR Complex (600 beds). After 1989, Sângeorz-Băi resort decades from a balneal, touristic and economic point of view, despite the conservation of the therapeutic valences of its natural resources.
