Summary/Abstract: In this article, the author brings to attention the life and the activity of priest Gheorghe Noveanu, an important clergyman and writer from Transylvania, who’s destiny was linked to Bistriţa-Năsăud county because, in the last part of his life, he was priest at the “Three Holy Hierarchs” Church in Bistriţa. Despite of his importance,of his prodigious literary and theological activity, priest Noveanu was almost forgotten by nowadays people. Only priest Alexandru Moraru speaks about him in a little portrait in one of his books about the Orthodox Theological Seminary from Cluj, and Vasile Manea who presents briefly his activity in a book about the priests whowere imprisoned during the communist period. But, for all that, some wrong information is exposed in those publications. So, starting from these points, the author will try to reconstitute the biography of priest Noveanu, presenting the papers published by him, but also his life and his activity, bringing him again to the contemporary research attention.
