Summary/Abstract: The Romanian society identified in the second half of the 19th century a new way of connecting to the European space. The influence of the French cultural environment was also felt in the Romanian society, mainly by realizing statues for political leaders of different orientations. Each of these had an important impact on the Romanian political life. One of those who supported this project of “connecting” to European space was Eugeniu Carada. In turn, he made the transition from the position of political leader, disputed and appreciated, to the “hero” evoked in public meetings and, last but not least, to the object of awe for future generations.
