Summary/Abstract: Monograph by Annette Insdorf “Intimations. The Cinema of Wojciech Has” (2017) is the first English-language attempt to comprehensively portray the work of one of the most important and best-described film-makers in the Polish post-war cinema. Concise, classical in a layout of chapters, but written in precise language and exemplary condensed form, Insdorf’s work is a great introduction to the director’s work, whose main thematic obsession was time in the most diverse of its manifestations and for whom formal perfection was the main determinant of aesthetic search.
