Summary/Abstract: The goal of this paper is to investigate different approaches to the definitions of multimedia, cross-media, transmedia, in the light of evolution of values and the development of digital and convergent cultures. The study proposes to define multimedia as ‘one story, one channel, many forms of content’, while – at the same time – сross-media and transmedia are being understood as ‘one story, many forms of content, many channels’ and ‘many stories, many forms of content, many channels, a single thematic universe, created with the active participation of readers (viewers)’ accordingly.
