Summary/Abstract: In this paper there are investigated the special features of the typology of peasant Gagauz family during the 19th century and at the beginning of the 20th on the basis of archive materials and data, represented in the work of the previous researchers. It is noted that independent of the type of family, its internal life was based on the patriarchal principle, on the supremacy of elder man and the respect of elders. As far as we know them, the given principles remained as such in the Gagauz villages up to the 1970s.
