Summary/Abstract: Over the years the number of crimes committed against cultural heritage objects has increased. For this reason, the state organizes the appropriate structure of specialized bodies to prevent such crimes, providing them with the powers and means to ensure their effectiveness. The role of law enforcement agencies is particularly important, as the effectiveness of combating crimes depends on their professionalism. This paper indicates the powers and duties of the Police, Border Guard, and National Tax Administration in combating crimes against monuments, together with the legal regulations concerning the involvement of the voivodship monument conservator in the proceedings concerning such crimes.
