Summary/Abstract: The Alliance between Poland and Romania underwent several stages in the interwar period: from moments of close collaboration to silent rupture episodes. Carol II's visit in 1937 was a spectacular demonstration of the renewal of the Polish-Romanian alliance aimed at safeguarding both countries against Soviet danger. It also showed an independent course of Polish foreign policy in the context of the relationship with the French ally and a reluctant attitude towards Czechoslovakia and the Little Entente.
