The Central Catalogue of Federation of the Church Libraries FIDES in the Koha System

Summary/Abstract: On June 16, 2014, the Central Catalogue of Federation of the Church Libraries FIDES had been launched using Koha system. It operates on the basis of „one description – many resources” principle, with NUKAT catalogue as the source of bibliographic references, and uses both NUKAT and JHP BN authority files. The catalogues of twelve libraries have already been moved or included in the Catalogue, ten of them from the MAK system. The process of exchanging records and consolidating them is partially automated and partially computer-aided. All member libraries have undertaken cooperation, mostly active, with the NUKAT catalogue, which is the requirement for participation in the project. Participation in the central catalogue raises professional competence of librarians and affects the promotion of libraries and their collections.
