Summary/Abstract: Zaolzie is a specific area inhabited by the Polish minority. The Poles found themselves in the territory of the Czech Republic, not as a result of migration, but because of the administrative shift of borders. Subjected to years of bohemization, they now enjoy the ease of using Polish language, cultivating tradition and nurturing their religious identity. Testimony of attachment to Polishness and Catholicism are churches, especially those from the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries, for which Poles care with special care.
