Summary/Abstract: The paper elaborates on empirical data in order to analyze the extent to which crowdfunding reduces barriers to entry into the Polish music market. Analysis is based on semistructured interviews conducted with emerging artists, who use crowdfunding to fi nance production of their records. The data suggests that impact of crowdfunding on the music market is positive albeit limited. These artists fi nd it diffi cult to promote themselves after releasing the records. The paper makes attempts to map potential barriers in access to media such as radio or press.
