Summary/Abstract: Volodymyr Kakhnych’s book is the first comprehensive study of the establishment and the development of legal education and research at Lviv University produced by a Ukrainian historian of law. The monograph, based on a vast range of archival and documentary material, is both informative and interesting. It focuses in particular on the structure of the Faculty of Law, its academic staff members and their research, as well as the content (subjects) of the legal curriculum.
