Summary/Abstract: Polish and British public television stations use Facebook profiles mostly to promote their programs. In this article the online performance of BBC and TVP are analyzed from the perspective of the content, scope and effectiveness of posts on Facebook. Generally, TV stations publish information on the series and entertainment programmes. News channels put the emphasis on facts and important events. BBC in keen on using graphic communication, while the Polish media focus on text and videos. Facebook is a tool to support two-way communication with customers, which is further used to promote the TV offer.
