Non-Profit Organizations - A Contribution To Terminological Clarification

Summary/Abstract: This paper clarifies the terms most often used as synonyms for denomination of public sector out of the sphere of state and profit. Above else, these are: third sector, non governmental organizations, citizens’ associations, civil initiatives. In our opinion, in accordance with our social, political and economic situation, we consider the nonprofit sector to be the most comprehensive and most acceptable term. It comprises all characteristics of these terms, however without assimilating them but allowing each of them to emphasize some specific characteristics of that sector in a particular manner.
