Summary/Abstract: In this paper, the author intends to establish the relation between the changes of the social context and the evolution of the dominant political and cultural patterns and political ideologies. The focus of this analysis is the question of correspondence of the political field in Serbia and its key actors - the relevant political parties on the one hand with the divisions in the European political field and its evolution, on the other. The most important conclusion is that, although the Serbian political field is openly mimicking, receiving and spreading the European mainstream models, it is still trapped by the traditional and inherited lines of social and political divisions.
