Summary/Abstract: The following article presents the linguistic situation of russophone Ukrainians after migrating to Poland. Despite using Russian language as their first language the respondents are not culturally attached to Russia in any way and treat their first language as a means of communication. After coming to Poland, Ukrainian language loses its communicative values, which are gained by Polish instead.
