Summary/Abstract: The scientific work of Milorad Ţivanĉević (1933), accomplished in almost six decades (1958-2016), inevitably requires an objectively based summing up of results in the field of culture, science and art, or more precisely, in the area of the Yugoslavian, Slavic and comparative literature. The paper about the author of the extraordinary energy and creativity was a real challenge, which we wanted to show from the very beginning of the study, by dividing the disciplines he dealt with into three thematically and genologically determined circles. The first part of the paper - "The literary-historical approach to the study of synchrony and diachrony (pp. 1-8) is dedicated to the books Prilozi prouĉavanju hrvatske knjiţevnosti XIX veka, (Zagreb, 1969) as well as to the first part, entitled Povijesti hrvatske knjiţevnosti – Ilirizam, knj. 4 (Zagreb, 1975). The second part - "Monographic Approach to the Study of Writers and Works" (pp. 8-14) encompasses a monograph entitled Ivan Maţuranić (Novi Sad-Zagreb, 1988) and four discussions: „Grobniĉko polje― (Zagreb, 1973) by Dimitrije Demetra, „Smrt Smail-age Ĉengića― by Ivan Maţuranić (Beograd, 1982), „Seljaĉka buna― by Augusta Šenoa (Beograd, 1983) and „Povratak Filipa Latinovića― by Miroslav Krleţa (Beograd, 1985). The third part – "A Comparative Approach to the Study of and Occurrences" (pp. 14-22) is dedicated to Ţivanĉević's book Polonica (Нови Сад, 1987), and to the headline "Studies and discussions from the history of Yugoslav-Polish relations". The paper also includes "Notes" (pages 23-29) and "Literature" (pages 30-31). In addition to the above books the author analyzes the most important reviewers who wrote about this renowned and deserving scientist and pedagogue.
