Summary/Abstract: Statistics indicate that property-related offences are the predominant kind of crimes in the structure of general or typical criminality in modern countries, including Serbia. Such statistics is a result of the overall increase in the number of committed criminal acts and perpetrators (especially juvenile offenders), the forms and aspects of complicity, the intensity and the scope of consequences of the crime, the degree of recidivism and a great public danger. Property-related crimes have become the most frequent criminal offences lately. Robbery is a specific form or property-related criminal act with elements of violence. In essence, this criminal act includes an assault (by using physical force, serious threats, guns, knives or other objects) which is aimed at obtaining some illegal benefit from the property of another, either for oneself or for a third person. The criminal acts of robbery (such as armed robbery and theft) have become most prominent lately.
