Summary/Abstract: The aim of the article is to assess the intensity of export activity and general efficiency together with their dependencies as well as the identification of the attributes of Poland’s production mesostructure in the years 1990–2016. The study covered: the phases of mesostructure development, the changes in the location of its objects (sections of the Polish classification of activities), the ways of the central point and the classification of objects. The selected dimension of the model was used to study one of the four development and transformation processes, i.e. competitiveness. Employed measurement range assumed relationship between two highlighted sub–measures of competitiveness (intensity of export and general efficiency).
