Summary/Abstract: Currently, students’ possession of information or cognizance purely from the school teaching program could result in alienation from the actual reality which is frequently termed as informational and media shock syndrome. This article presents the main assumptions of media pedagogy and its ability to create discovery learning of which precursor was Jerome Seymour Bruner. This kind of activity helps students to take responsibility for their learning, develops more complex thinking, allows them to concentrate on internal rather than external motivation and also helps to remember and process an important information. Nowadays, media environment provides an individual with a number of opportunities – becomes a source of knowledge, experiences, possibilities to „go beyond the provided information” from school what aids students in branching out on their own and satisfying their needs and aspirations.
