Changes in Business Environment of the European Union Countries: Implication for the Convergent Growth

Summary/Abstract: Business environment can be considered as an important factor of development processes in the economy. This is due to institutional economics as well as international business theory. The article aims to present the result of research on changes in business environment of the European Union countries (EU28) in years 2012-2016 in the context of convergence process. The research methods applied in the study are literature investigation and panel regression tool. The paper attempts to present issues related to conceptualization, operationalization and quantification of the business environment. The main part of the study refers to analysis of business environment of the EU countries on the basis of Doing Business Index and its relationship with economic growth.
