Summary/Abstract: The article raises the issue of attractiveness the concept of sustainable development receives in the wider sphere of education. This new idea, which is associated more with the business world and the realm of economics, contains a lot of interesting content that can be successfully used in the process of teaching. The concept of sustainable development refers to the fact that current social problems as the world of values, tolerance of diversity in society, the phenomenon of exclusion as well as harmonious personal and social development. Many of the demands and solutions developed under the concept of balanced development is of high interest to the wider education. The concept of sustainable development may prove to be an inspiration for the creation of new content in the broad mainstream of education, the expansion of its research field and changes in the methods used by pedagogy, the more so that this idea has now clearly a global impact.
