Summary/Abstract: Indicators of knowledge-based economy development in Polish agriculture are at lower level than in other sectors of Polish economy. It reflects mainly fragmented structure of agriculture, numerous production profiles, excessive distribution chain, and relatively poor economic condition of farms. Therefore it is necessary to provide support the implementation of scientific achievements in order to improve the competitiveness of the sector on both internal and external markets. The paper addresses the presentation and assessment of selected indicators as well as economic and financial instruments supporting knowledge-based economy in Polish agriculture. The indicators subject of the analysis are human capital quality and the use of IT technologies. The analysis of support instruments concerns mainly the activities within RDP. The Data and European Commissions’ reports were used in the paper, as well as information of Polish Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development concerning Rural Development Programme (RDP) and data of Central Statistical Office of Poland. The research method consisted in making comparative analyzes and expert assessments.
