GDRP in Entities Performing Therapeutic Activity. Selected Aspects

Summary/Abstract: The article presents the most important changes introduced by the Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data, and repealing Directive 95/46/EC (General Data Protection Regulation) and some examples of personal data security breaches and incidents in entities performing therapeutic activity. This paper presents also the results of the survey – interviews with IT managers (or designated persons) in entities performing therapeutic activity in the Lodz Voivodeship. The aim of the research was to determine the degree of preparation of the entities performing therapeutic activities in the Lodz Voivodeship to implement changes resulting from the GDPR, to identify the sources and forms of support and problems in implementing these changes.
