Summary/Abstract: The article discusses the history and activities of the family of Cracovian townspeople and brewers whose ancestor was Tomasz Latos, who came from Chechia. For most of the 16th century, the Latos family owned a property at Szewska Street, created from the connection of their tenement house (the western part of the property) with their own built-up housing on a not very large plot of land bought from the neighbour (eastern part of the property). On it, a malting house was placed, which entered the enlarged house. Other brewing equipment was in the yard. In sixteenth-century Cracow, a specific phenomenon is the durability of the brewing and malting profession, transferred to the Latos family for three generations.
