Word formation — remarks on corpora-based study

Summary/Abstract: In this paper, I summarize the experience of the four-year project The Dictionary of Czech Affixes. I present the theoretical basis and the practical problems that were necessary to solve. The crucial chapters proved to be problematic from the point of view of unambiguously expressed conclusions. Most often, problems arose from the word-type of base words, and the consequent uncertainty regarding applied word-forming elements.
