Summary/Abstract: The article examines the ideological context of the Bulgarian-Byzantine wars by the end of the 9th and in the 10th centuries. In connection with the main research issue, Cyril the Philosopher’s interpretation of Daniel’s scheme of the earthly kingdoms, presented in the text of the Life of Constantine is analyzed. It is studied the formation of the Bulgarian political eschatology during the time of Tsar Simeon and in the context of the political and military confrontation between Bulgaria and Byzantium at the beginning of the 10th century. The paper analyses the eschatologation of the Bulgarian-Byzantine wars at the beginning of the 10th century.
