Summary/Abstract: In the works printed in Library “Ancient Bulgaria” in the 20s and 30s of 20th century the lessons of patriotism have to be revised. The bridge between the past and the present again steps on the coasts of the legendary: Bulgarians have a glorious past, the Bulgarian nation has a big cultural and political potential and therefore has a bright future. The image of the ruler is idealized. The authors of the library “Ancient Bulgaria” introduce themselves as Paisius’ protégés. This way, absolutely naturally, they renew the Renaissance anachronism of the baptizing of Boris I by St. Methodius.
