Summary/Abstract: Innovative activity of enterprises, including more and more popular family business, constitutes a very complex but generating measurable benefits process. In this article the author researches the level of R&D expenditures. The research problem which is the low level of the innovativeness of economic entities in Poland in relation to leading EU countries is significant, because Poland is on a distant place in international innovation rakings, also regarding R&D activity. The condition to enhance the level of enterprises innovation in Poland in relation to leading EU countries is widely understood cooperation with other economic entities in the form of mergers or acquisitions, outsourcing, joint venture or clusters. The author used a research method including comparative analysis and material synthesis as well as an analysis being the so-called statistical operation in the form of a complex econometric model allowing to quantify the influence of cooperation on the enterprises innovativeness.
