SYSTEM OF CITY TRANSPORT TOWARDS SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT

Summary/Abstract: Progressive spatial development of city infrastructure expressed by an increase in population density or the number of factories, alteration of lifestyle and domination of individual transport usage, generate unwanted changes in the city space. These trends have a negative impact on the functioning of transport, thus the quality of citizens’ life is also affected. Minimizing these nuisances requires usage of logistics management rules, as the concentration of significant business entities and people on a relatively small territory creates relevant problems in management. Proper organization of city transport is of special significance to cities’ functioning, taking into account the rules of sustainable management. The author undertakes to discuss the problem of qualitative development of city transport system, considering the principles of sustainable development
