History and use of the Internet

Summary/Abstract: The paper presents the history of internet development, from the first work in the 1960s to the contemporary period. It has been pointed to a sharp increase in the number of its users in the world and in Poland. The scale of internet use by different age groups is also presented, depending on education and occupation. The possibility of using the Internet in business was presented.
