Summary/Abstract: This paper highlights the dynamic development of the Serbian legislation in the field of Criminal Procedure, as a result of the general social, economic and cultural changes. The roots of numerous procedural reforms can be found in the need for adequate reaction to the changes in scope and structure of crime. However, the legislator is criticized for too numerous, unthoroughly prepared, pragmatically induced changes and different inconsistencies within the legal system.
