Summary/Abstract: As part of the wide spectrum of psychological normative tests that look foe an application in the clinical diagnosis and work with child cancer patients, projective methods are discrete, accurate and strongly supported research instrument. This pilot study uses the Child Apperception Test (С.А.Т. form S) and it presents an additional source of data towards a better understanding of a child’s thoughts, fantasies, emotions and conflicts during the complex treatment of cancer. An evaluation is also given to the family dynamics via the methodology of Family Relationships Index (FRI), as a current instrument for consultation of families of patients with oncological illnesses. This methodology finds an even wider range of applications because it allows for initiation of discussions, adaptations and changes that occur in individuals, couples, parents and children to be functional elements of the family paradigm at the presence of a life-threatening illness.
