Summary/Abstract: I would like to throw some light at a clearly pre-phenomenological character of Arthur Schopenhauer’s method of cognition. He underlines against Kant a very evidential starting point of his philosophy, which becomes a knowledge grasped as late as in concepts. When concepts are defined rigidly in scale, they have only an analytical utility, meanwhile ideas constitute unity disintegrating into pluralisty, they give a synthetic utility, because they obtain their force from life, nature and the world. Besides, I would like to point to the theatre of absurd as a legitimate off spring of his metaphysical pessimism.
