Analysis of severe material deprivation rate in the EU regions using fractional regression

Summary/Abstract: The paper deals with fractional regression models (FRM) applied to assess the impact of various socio-economic factors on severe material deprivation rates in the EU regions. The results of the extended RESET test indicate that linear model suffers from mis-specification, while there is no reason to reject the hypothesis about the adequacy of FRM. As a consequence, the marginal effects are dependent on the level of factors taken into account as explanatory variables in the FRM.
