Summary/Abstract: The article considers the issue of the date of Simeon the Great’s enthronement which is not evident in the historical sources. The research is focused in pieces of information for Knyaz Boris I (852–907) a Tsar Simeon nd from well known medieval works: the Old-Bulgarian historical and apocalyptic writings: Daniel´s Reading (10th c.) and Bulgarian Apocryphal Chronicle (11th c.), as well as Chronicle of Reginon (9th – first half of the 10th c.), and The Life of Clement of Ochrid written by Theophylact of Ochrid (11th c.). In order to be determined the exact date of this historical event are used ancient Bulgarian cycle calendar and the Byzantine indiction system. The conclusion is that Tsar Simeon the Great ascended the throne in the period between May and August 31st, 893.
