Summary/Abstract: The aim of the paper is an initial approach to preliminary determinations on the internationalization and globalization processes’ impact on the development of individual regions (voivodeships) in Poland. The starting point is the classification of individual regions based on the share of SMEs in exports in 2000 and the position of them in 2016, taking into account the role of micro and small enterprises. It was assumed that the involvement of SMEs in particular in the processes of internationalization and globalization should shape the trend in this area among micro and small enterprises established and developing economic activity in the regions in a longer term. The article uses the available statistics, including those prepared, by Bank Pekao SA and published in the “Report on the situation of micro and small enterprises in 2016” prepared on a sample of 6 903 enterprises. The results are being presented in tabular form using mathematical analysis tools to determine the structure of studied phenomena and processes, the strength and direction of changes in the regions involved in export of SMEs and micro and small enterprises in 2000 and 2016.
