Summary/Abstract: The text explores the topic of historical re-enactments along three thematic axes. In one direction, the text analyses why historical explanations are back in circulation, in another direction, it looks at historical re-enactments in their communication with the fantasy genre, and in a third direction, re-enacting the past is explored as a celebration of the community. The text examines the problem in a post-modern context and tries to find premises and explanations for these cultural practices. The article is based on field observation of the event “Blagovets with Baga-tur”, interviews with participants and online research on the websites of “Baga-tur” association, as well as on visual material.
