Projects for the Army Establishment of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania in 1683–1684. A Contribution to Studies of the Rivalry between King John III and the Sapiehas for Influence in the Lithuanian Army in 1683–1696

Summary/Abstract: The article discusses the process of preparations of the Lithuanian army establishment for war with the Sublime Porte in 1683 and the rivalry between King John III and the Palatine of Wilno, Grand Lithuanian Hetman Kazimierz Jan Sapieha, on the basis of an analysis of handwritten military registers of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania in 1683–1684. The article closes with the edition of these projects in the form of a source appendix to the study.
