Summary/Abstract: Is a direct expression of feelings still possible in the novel of the 21st century? This article examines how Tanguy Viel, a contemporary author publishing in Les Editions de Minuit and considered as an experimental writer, deals with reader ’s emotions and what strategies he uses to provoke them. The strange tension between a text of law and a poetic writing allows us to analyze Viel ’s special use of humor, distance or acceptance.
